The Government of West Bengal launches a lot of welfare schemes for its people. The Samudra sathi Scheme is one of the newest additions in the list of welfare schemes presented by the WB Government. The Samudra Sathi Scheme 2024 is launched for the Fishermen of Bengal. The scheme was announced along with the West Bengal Budget declaration for the year 2024. Nearly 200 crore rupees are going to be allocated to bring this scheme to reality. 

During the Fishing Ban for two months of the year, the Fishermen will have financial assistance provided by this scheme. So they don’t suffer in the scarcity of money and can lice their lives normally.

Samudra Sathi Scheme 2024

Fishermen are one of the most important people in our society. They are the reason the Bengal’s evergreen & flourishing fish appetite. The fishermen’s of Bengal contribute in getting the people of the state a huge chunk of their food, “Fish”. Undoubtedly the fishermen are so important for all of us. But during the mid-year period, the fishing ban implemented by the government, grasps onto their source of income. Lack of fishing independence make their lives chaotic. Lack of income makes their daily life rough. 

To solve this issue, the Government of West Bengal, namely the Finance Minister Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya has announced the Samudra Sathi  welfare Scheme to help the Fishermen financially during their struggles in the Fishing Ban. The Government has allocated a total of 200 Crores to bring this scheme to life. By being a part of this scheme, the Fishermen will receive ₹5000 for two months, during the Fishing ban. This financial support is expected to help the Fishermen & their families in the rough times and free them from the terror of scarcity of money & food.

Samudra Sathi Scheme Eligibility Criterias 2024

If you are interested in the Welfare Scheme and want to get benefitted by it, you’ll have to apply for the scheme. Samudra Sathi Scheme Benefits 

The applicants applying for the Samudra Sathi Scheme will receive valuable benefits. The benefits provided by the Samudra Sathi Scheme are listed below:

• An amount of ₹500 will be provided to the bank account of the applicant for 2 months. A total pf ₹10,000 will be allocated to each applicant.

• The benefits will be given only to the registered Fishermen.

• The amount will be given to the applicants via direct bank transfer procedure.
